Renshi Taylor currently holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in American Open Style Karate and 4th Degree Black Belt in Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu; with over 20 yrs experience in Martial Arts.

 

Renshi Taylor also holds a Class “B” judges license with the USA – National Karate Federation allowing him to officiate at many state level tournaments throughout the southeastern United States.

Renshi Taylor received the opportunity to receive Level II Coaches credentials from USA-NKF from the national team coaches and directors in July of 2013.

Renshi Taylor began formal Kobudo (weapons) training with Shihan Alex Ormaza in Ryu-Te Renmai in January 2013.

Renshi Robert Taylor began his training in Lexington NC under Randy Smith owner of Sidekick Mixed Martial arts in January 1992.  He increased his training with Ricky Smith in China Grove NC.  0n September 18, 1994 Robert was awarded his Black belt. On June 27, 1995 he received his 2nd Degree.  In August 1997 he was awarded his 3rd Degree and in January 2001 he achieved his 4th Degree Black Belt. In July 2008, Renshi Taylor was promoted to 5th degree in American Open Karate.

 

Renshi Taylor began training in Ju-Jutsu under Shihan Troy Price in January of 2000. In December 2004 he earned a 1st degree followed by a 2nd degree in April 2008. Shihan Troy Price awarded Renshi Taylor a 3rd degree in Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu on April 18th, 2010. On April 21st, 2013 Renshi Taylor was tested and awarded the rank of 4TH degree in Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu by Shihan Troy Price.

 

Renshi Taylor has had the opportunity to train with some of the greatest Martial Artists of this time such as, Joe Lewis, Bill Wallace, Bob Wall, Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Jeff Smith, Howard Jackson and Hanshi Jerry Piddington.

 

He continues to train with highly recognized instructors such as Hanshi Robert Bowles, Hanshi Ridgely Abele, Hanshi Steven Roehsch, Shihan Troy Price, Shihan Alex Ormaza, Shihan Tommy Hood, Shihan Devorah Doemetrich, Kyoshi Jim Logue, Kyoshi Vitus Bilking, Shihan Tom Ryan, Renshi Paul Cote, Renshi Jeff Rhodes, Renshi Mark Barker, Renshi Joe Pounder, Sensei Clay Morton, Shihan Brian Hobson, Grandmaster Tom Muncie and Grandmaster Rick Muncie.

 

During the past few years Renshi Taylor has trained with USA-NKF National Team Coaches Shihan Tommy Hood and Dustin Baldis as well as WKF Champions John Fonseca, Cheryl Murphy, Troy Hirshcorn. Dr Clay Morton - World Shotokan Kata Champions.
